The hot goss for the night was that Joe has got flow. That’s right you guessed it! Spanish rapper Fat Joe was at Hot Gossip Nightclub. The last minute venue change didn’t seem to faze the crowd as the club filled for his early show. Hot Gossip accommodated the rapper by setting up the DJ table further back for more room.

Supporting acts for the event like Mercy & Stunna, DJ Vita, DJ J Tok, J Slang, Eazy Company and A Dubb & St James certainly worked the crowd and entertained them in anticipation of the rapper. Mareko featured in Eazy company’s set and Fat Joe came in fashionably late after 11pm which is actually a popular trend with international performers; and if you don’t know, now you know.

Fat Joe chose to open his act with an interesting track called New York; a song which Cool & Dre produced for Fat Joe but ended up with Ja Rule’s sixth studio album “R.U.L.E”. It certainly was a fascinating night as many in the crowd – for the most part – mostly knew his songs that were sung with popular artists like Ashanti, Chris Brown, and DJ Khaled. The crowd roared for tracks like What’s Luv, Another Round, Lean Back, Get it Poppin’ and We Takin’ Over. Watch Here and Here

He treated the crowd with an announcement of an upcoming album to be released in April this year and performed the first track called All the Way Up. Watch Here

For the gamers he sang a track called Twinz – a song with the beat of Dre’s debut single Deep Cover – which you would recognise if you played Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories or Saints Row 2.

In the end, Fat Joe – or the crowd for that matter – may not have noticed that he decided to replay the hit song What’s Luv and that in his final track, he endorsed his hype man’s rapping skills. Regardless, the crowd certainly enjoyed his performance and continued to party on for the rest of the night with the Hot Gossip Team.
