Ty Dolla $ign was welcomed once again at Eaton’s Hill Hotel last friday night, but this time without YG. Instead he brought along special guest Kent Jones who started the party early with his hit songs including the infamous debut single, I Don’t Mind. He entices the audience with a familiar boogie tune as he sings Alright which samples the hit song by Earth, Wind & Fire: Let’s Groove.
Ty entered the stage in full gear, complete with his stunner shades and leopard print coat, and began the night with the song Zaddy; a fitting entrance considering that according to urban dictionary, zaddy is the slang for “a handsome man with swag and sex appeal”. The musician tantalised the crowd with a bass solo whilst performing Wood & Leather before he stripped down to his bare chest and tattoos.
The crowd sang in chorus as Ty sang many hit songs like Familiar, You and Your Friends, and Paranoid. He also sang YG’s Toot It and Boot It; the song he wrote and produced that earned him his name in the rap community. The hip hop artist was full of energy, dancing and jumping around the stage, even attempting to do a little bit of crowd surfing. The audience of course, like before, was not limited to adults as under 18’s were restricted to the top deck of the venue. They still however, experienced the full extent of Ty Dolla $ign’s explicit lyrics on drugs, sex, and violence; especially as he sang Or Nah.
Staying true to being a ladies man, Ty Dolla $ign decided to end the night by calling up some ladies to the stage to dance along to Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home; a song which he helped write for the group.
